Jerome F. Melvin Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 21, 2024, at the age of 90, Jerome F. Melvin (Syracuse, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward G Melvin and Veronica Melvin; and his former wife Cynthia P. Melvin. He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Ballard (Keith) of Wakefield, RI; his grandson William; his daughter Mary Katherine Melvin (Chris Weltzien) of San Francisco, CA; his grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth and Christopher; his son Edward G. Melvin, II (Deborah) of Syracuse, NY; his grandchildren, Daniel and Margaret; and his former wife Barbara Melvin. He is also survived by neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (259 E Onondaga St, Syracuse, NY 13202). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Syracuse School District Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 5205, Syracuse, NY, 13220-5205, specifically to the Memorial Scholarship he established in honor of Catherine Cifaratta-Brayton, Liz Chisling, Sandra Di Bianco, and Dr. Kathleen Gramet.
