He was predeceased by: his parents, Roosevelt McWilliams and L. V. Johnson; his grandmother Pearlie Ward; his brothers, Leroy and Roosevelt McWilliams, Jr.; his stepson James "Jimmy" E. McLaurin; and his children, Rosalind and James N. McWilliams.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. McWilliams; his siblings, Paul McWilliams (Yvonne), Sandra, Mary, Johnnie Mae and Ramona; his children, Larone Hill (Melody) and Shereen C. McWilliams; his stepsons, Curtis (Dawn), Robert of Duane and Rodney Mclaurin of Syracuse, NY; his grandchildren, Shirlitra McWilliams, Yasin, Claudejah Whitted, Heaven and Rain Sigler; and his great grandchildren, Sapphire "Sapphy" R. Williams, Jaylen Thompson and Nollayjah "LayLay" Neeley.
