She was predeceased by: her parents, Mitchell Oakes and Emma Oakes (Lazore); her husband Robert L. Forbes; and her siblings, Ella Cole, Loretta Thompson, Irene Caldwell, Mildred Francis, Ivan Oakes, Lila Caldwell, Harold Oakes, Elmer Oakes and Viola Oakes.
She is survived by: her son Eren Oakes of Akwesasne; and her sister Geraldine Montour of Oka. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
