He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Horace Jones Sr. and Eva L. Jones; and his sisters, Mary Lou Ogletree and Roszetta Hill. He is survived by: his nephew James Jones (Chico); his children, Dorothea E. S. Jones of Columbia, MD, Camille Ferrell-Knighton (Willis Knighton) of Liverpool, NY, Michael Jones, Keenan Jones of Syracuse and Markee Jones of Rochester, NY; his sister Karen Ellerby of Syracuse, NY; his aunt Rena (Mattie Floyd); and his granddaughters, Madison A. Jones and Ariana J. Knighton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Throughout his life, Horace made significant contributions to his community.
