He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis O'Brien and Lorraine O'Brien (Clements); and his sister-in-law Linda O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Theresa DeCarlo (Terry); his children, Alison and Kevin (Robyn); his grandchildren, Victoria and Nathan; and his siblings, Jame (Anne), Robert, Mary Gunther (Peter), Patrick and Martha Ford (Patrick).

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Beney Funeral Home (79 Berry Hill Rd, Syosset, NY 11791). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the St. Edward Confessor RC Church (205 Jackson Ave, Syosset, NY 11791).
