With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Schallert (Strykersville, New York), born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on February 14, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Freyburger and Hazel Barber Freyburger; her husband Joseph "Butch" Schallert; her great grandchild Anna Schallert; and her brothers, Harold Freyburger (Charlotte) and Joseph Freyburger (Shirley).
She is survived by: her children, Judy Carlson (late Craig) of Sheldon, Donna Brainard (Bill) of Jamestown and John Schallert (Julie) of Cape Cod, Massachusettes; and her grandchildren, Joshua Schallert, Kristen Pettengill, Ashley Casey, Rachael Booth, Ryan Brainard, Allison Camire and Emily Schallert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
