He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Schultz; and his niece Samantha Brooks. He is survived by: his mother Margaret Schultz (Walbroehl); his wife Carol (Widmann); his sons, Joseph Schultz (Emily) of Georgia and David Schultz (Karissa) of Kerhonkson; his grandchildren, Parker and Noelle; his sister Irene; his brother-in-law Leonard Brooks; and his aunt Fran Grenier. He is also survived by friends and coworkers.
