He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Feathers and Sarah Feathers (Cronkwright); and his brother Douglas. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie; his children, Stephen (Sara), Susan and Neil; his brother Lawrence; his grandchildren, Devin, Evelyn and Stephen Feathers; his stepgranddaughters, Brigid Carhart and Danielle Decatur (Karl); and also, Colin, Liam and Quinn.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home (457 NY-43, Stephentown, NY 12168). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Stephentown Federated Church (1513 Garfield Nassau Rd, Stephentown, NY 12168).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department or Stephentown Federated Church in Mel's memory may be sent in care of Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 15, Stephentown, NY 12168.
