It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florina Esther Schmidt of Spring Valley, New York, who passed away on January 8, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Fasano and Freda Fasano; her siblings, Angelo (Jeanette), Frank (Evelyn), Phil (Joan) and Fidelma; her brother-in-law Frederick Scott; her parents-in-law, Joseph and Magdalena Schmidt; her siblings-in-law, Joseph Schmidt and Helen Fedorick (Peter); her nephews, Joseph Fedorick and Bobby Fasano; and her significant other Sal DiMartino.
She is survived by: her husband John Schmidt; her daughters, Catherine Malone (Thomas) and Elizabeth Bailey; her sister Philomena Scott; and her grandchildren, Kevin Malone, Erin Kennedy (Shawn), Jennifer McArdle, Meghan McArdle and Christopher "Kit" Bailey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, because of her life long love of animals, Mom wishes memorial donations in her name to be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
