Jonah Bradley (Smith) Johnson Obituary

A beautiful shining soul has left this world way too soon. Jonah Bradley Johnson (Smith), 49, of Sprakers, NY passed away unexpectedly at home Tuesday evening, November 29, 2022.
Born in Schenectady, NY on October 13, 1973, Jonah attended Duanesburg Central School, graduating from Schalmont High School in 1992. He enjoyed a lengthy, prosperous career with the I.A.T.S.E. Local 14 Stagehands Union out of Albany, NY, with rigging and spotlight operator roles at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady being his favorite.
He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed creating delicious recipes for his family, turning our fixer-upper country home ideas into reality, planting beautiful flowers, his family camp in Vermont he’d frequented since he was a child, loved his bonfires, his music, but most of all he loved his family. Jonah loved telling stories of days gone by raising his daughters, and he simply adored his young son. He couldn’t wait to tell everyone when he found out he was having a little boy!
Daddy planted berry bushes so he’d be able to grow up picking berries while playing outside. That was Jonah, so sweet, loving, and always thinking of ways to make others happy. Everything he did was with love. He had always enjoyed spending time outdoors, but even more so when his son was born. Together, they planted a pumpkin patch on our hill and checked on it every day watching them grow. They would take walks to name the different vehicles going by. Tanker truck, ‘ment mixer, double decker bus…
He couldn’t wait to take him sleigh riding this year. Sadly, his life ended before he got the chance.
Jonah is survived by his loving wife, Shelly M. Johnson and their 20 month old son, Jameson Oakley Johnson, both of Sprakers, his two daughters, Tessa and Bethany Smith of Schenectady, his father Ronald Smith (Roberta Smith) of Rotterdam, his brother Marcus Franolich of Schenectady, his sister Megan Jesco (Scott VanHoose) of Rotterdam, his sister Jessica Arnold (Ben Arnold) of Atlanta, GA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins that all loved him dearly.
He was predeceased by his mother, Gene Fuller-Darlak.
A celebration of his life will commence at 12 noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the South Minden Fire Department in Fort Plain, NY.
In lieu of floral offerings, a monetary contribution may be made in his memory to assist in caring for his little one the way he planned. We love you Daddy.
Rest In Peace Our Angel in Heaven.
