He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Akins, Sr. and Essie Serrilda Webb Akins. He is survived by: his wife Modenia Cook Akins; his daughters, Tammy Kessler (Adam) of Taylorsville and Stacey Lawson (David) of Shepherdsville; his granddaughters, Cherydan Ciaburri of Shepherdsville and Brooke Shafar of Detroit, Michigan; and his siblings, Tommie Akins of Taylorsville and Lucille Nation of Taylorsville.
The family has requested that memorial contributions in member of Chester Akins, Jr., be made to the Crossing Cedarmore Church Camp, in care of the youth program at Taylorsville Community Church, 277 Taylorsville Road, Taylorsville, Kentucky 40071.
