He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Van Sleet and Laura Deno Van Sleet; and his siblings, Alfred Van Sleet (Betty) and Jane Quinn (Daniel). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Grant Van Sleet; his children, Richard Van Sleet (Anne Marie), Jane Kutey (James) and Laura Valadakis (Mike); his grandchildren, Michelle Pjetrovic (Melja), David Van Sleet, Laura Mercedes Greene (William), Juliana Kutey and Jane Valadakis; his niece Paula Via (Tom); and his nephew Alfred Van Sleet (Rita).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
