Vertelia Cunningham Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vertelia Cunningham (Sparkill, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 18, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Lee (Mattie Fields Pettiford) and Vertelia; and her husband John G. Cunningham. She is survived by: her daughters, Stacie Brooks of Oxford, NC and Eleda House (Hezekiah) of Englewood, NJ; her sister Mary Willow Smith of Nyack, NY; her grandchildren, Karrington Brooks, Joshua House and Madison House; her brother Bill Cunningham (Margaret); and her sisters-in-law, Ida Greene, Helen Cunningham and Gail Martin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Charles AME Zion Church (432 Valentine Ave, Sparkill, NY 10976). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
