He was predeceased by: his wife Jo Lorraine Parker; his parents, Cora Davis Ward and Emanuel Ward, Sr.; and his brother Roosevelt "Tape" Ward (Francis) of Southampton. He is survived by: his children, Gloria Palmore (Donald) of Southampton, NY, James Jr. Ward (Peggy) of Kernersville, NC, Helen Walker (Andy) of Virginia Beach, VA and L. Debby Ward (Herm) of Southampton, NY; his grandchildren, Nicole Johnson, James Ward III, Kit Johnson (Stephanie), Cory Ward, LaToya James (Derrick), Lindsay Smith (Peter), Elliott Ward (Nicole) and Antionette Walker; and his sisters, Lilly Walker and Marion Fields (Chester) of California. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
