Robert P. Kish Obituary
Robert P. (Bob) Kish, age 93, of South Salem, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1st, at Cassena Care at Norwalk. Born and raised in Norwalk, the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Thomas) Kish, he was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine, "Gerry" (Port) Kish for over 60 years. The couple moved to South Salem in 1958 and started their family. A graduate of Norwalk High School and Empire Linotype School, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952 and was stationed in Alaska. He was later employed at United Printing and Publishing in Stamford.
A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he loved his family and grandchildren. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, feeding the birds, spending time in his yard, watching the latest news and weather, and listening to professional baseball on his radio. He had a strong passion for gardening;. If you ever wanted to find Bob, he would be outside wandering around in his yard admiring his vegetable plants and the beautiful flowers that he would plant each year. He had a green thumb and would sometimes spend the entire day outside working in his garden.
Bob is survived by his 3 children, Glenn Kish of Norway, ME, Margaret (Marcie) Kiernan of Merritt Island, FL and Janice Kish-Davis of Goshen, CT; 5 cherished grandchildren, Jenna Maddalone, Devin Kish, Lindsay Kiernan, Autumn Kish and Spencer Davis; his great granddaughter, Emma Maddalone, as well as his beloved sister, Julie Hussey of Rowayton, CT. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his friend, Barbara Enright, who he enjoyed going out to lunch and attending church and bible study with.
A Private Memorial Service with close family members will be held Tuesday, May 16th at 11 AM in the South Salem Presbyterian Church. A burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
