He is survived by: his close friend Sue Conger Sgarlata; his mother Patricia Jonas (Eugene); and his siblings, Daniel Bane, Michael Bane (Lisa), Patrick Bane (Maureen), Maureen Meyering (Rob) and Christopher Van Slyke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc.
