He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Gorny; his sister Theresa Holmes; and his son-in-law Carl Ryan. He is survived by: his children, Mary Ryan, Thomas Horton (Cindy) and Lisa Wirth (Brad). He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to South Onondaga Fire Department, 3130 Cedarvale Road, Nedrow, NY 13120.
