She was predeceased by: her parents, William Stevens and Harriet Stevens (Higbie); and her sister Joyce Closs. She is survived by: her husband Edward McGowan; her sons, Brian (Renae McGowan) and Bruce (Samantha McGowan); her brother Billy Stevens; and her grandchildren, Breanne McGowan and Blane McGowan.
