He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo Taranto and Frances Taranto (Scafidi); his siblings, Rosalie Gibbon, Thomas Taranto and Paul Taranto; and his niece Lee Ann Papelino.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph A. Taranto, Jr. (Chantana) of Clay, NY, Marlene Williams (Brian) of Syracuse, NY, Amy Beth Hayes (Eric Vollick) of Syracuse, NY and Thomas Taranto; his grandchildren, Curtis Taranto, Joshua Williams, Emmie Mae Vollick and Titan; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Youmans (Bob) of Ballston Lake, NY, Rick Morey (Barb) of Utica, NY, Julie Morey of Amsterdam, NY and Gary Gibbon of Norwich, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (68 S Broad St, Norwich, NY 13815). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Columbus Community Church (4311 NY-80, Sherburne, NY 13460).
