It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Shanahan of Sound Beach, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony and Katherine. She is survived by: her husband Dennis; her children, Christine (Andrew) and Dennis (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Caitlin, MacKenzie, Hannah and Molly; her sister Barbara (late Jeffery); and her daughter-in-law Sherin Shanahan.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Calverton National Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the O. B. Davis Funeral Homes (1001 Rte 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764). A prayer was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the same location.
