She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Nikitopoulos and Margaret McGinniss Nikitopoulos; and her siblings, Argyro, James, Robert, Irene, Theodore, Basil, Mary and John.
She is survived by: her husband Frank P. Janos; her children, Marlene Winky Janos (Joe O'Donnell) of Norcross, Georgia, Frances Fronz Janos of Lords Valley, Pennsylvania, James F. Janos (Patricia) of Wappingers Falls and Frank P. Janos, Jr. (Irina Zaretsky) of Briarcliff Manor; her grandchildren, Gregory, Michael, Joseph, Matthew, Maxine, Georgina and Henry; her great grandchildren, Jayden, Madison, Gianna, Chase and Marin; and her sister Filomena Simons of Pleasant Valley.
In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations in Sophie's name be made to: the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
