He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Burns and Geneva Burns; his wife Nancy Sue Burns; and his siblings, Earl, Edward, Robert, Charles, Ralph, George, Jack, Violet, Irene, Marguerite (Peg), Charlotte and Beatrice.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Proskine (John), Lori Burns (Fred Worden), Gary Burns (Pam), Lisa Burns (John Pendergrass) and Amy Cuozzo (Chris); his grandchildren, Shane, Shanna, Billy, Stephen, Makenzie and Jacob; his great grandchild Callum Ray; and his brothers, Kenneth and Gerald Burns.
