He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Bogardus and Dorothy Bogardus; and his brother Stephen R. Bogardus. He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Bogardus; his children, Tyler, Morgan and Rylan; his close friend Dotti; his sister Caryl DePalma; and his sister-in-law Kathy Bogardus.
