Kearse of Croton on Hudson, New York, born in Staten Island, New York, who passed away on April 26, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Kearse and Josephine Kearse; and her brothers, Thomas and Patrick. She is survived by: her friend Sister Gabriel Miriam; and her siblings, Terence (Phyllis), Michael (Diana) and Kathleen Groark (Thomas). She is also survived by six nieces and nephews.

“I'm 23 years old now and I haven't seen Joan since I was about 15 or 16 but in all my years of education I've never met someone quite like her. I was not a very focused or driven child and unlike most other adults she gave me the benefit of the doubt that I was not a bad kid. My favorite memory of her was every day at lunch when she would come up and tap me on the shoulder to make me look away so she could steal a chips ahoy cookie. Long live Joan ❤️”
