He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Mayerhofer and Eileen Mayerhofer; his daughter Christine (Tom); his grandchildren, Tommy, Jack and Ryan; his siblings, Donald (Maureen), Greg (Pat), Robert (Joan), Mary Paccione (Bill), Joan Richardson (Dave), Gerard (Laura), John (Kay) and Francis (Kate); his siblings-in-law, Jim and Stephanie Larkin; and his wife Patricia.

Donations can be made to an organization he held in the highest regard, the FDNY Burn Center, in Honor of Captain George T. Mayerhofer.
