He was predeceased by: his daughter Jean Veronica Schipf; his siblings, Robert Schipf of Montana and Alice Schipf Norton of New Jersey; and his parents, Henry Joseph Schipf and Anna Edith Staker Schipf.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mitchell Schipf. He is also survived by four children and nine grandchildren and several foster children.
