He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Albert and Lillian Frank Kanis; and his brother Robert (Josephine). He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Brown); his children, Dr. David Kanis of Chicago, Deborah Dineen (Daniel) of Cortland and Patricia Bowen (David) of Syracuse; his grandchildren, Danielle Allison (Joseph), Kelly Dineen, Michael Dineen, Matthew Bowen, Eric Bowen and Joseph Bowen; and his friends, Jackie, Tony and Denny Stratton.
