He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Rader Dempsey; his parents, Reverend Charles Dempsey and Helen Loomis Dempsey; his brothers, Paul and Charles "Chuck" Dempsey; his siblings-in-law, Floss Dempsey and Jean Dempsey; and his son-in-law Donald Clark.
He is survived by: his daughter Cathy Clark; his grandchildren, Christopher Clark (Tracy), Kelly Marcello (Rob), Gordon Gardner (Cassy), Matthew Dempsey (Amanda), Bridget Boston (Brad), Charles Gardner (Jen), William Gardner (Emily), Mary-Kate Parker (Brent), Michael Dempsey (Leah), Kenneth Gardner (Britney), David Gardner and Morgan Dempsey; his great grandchildren, Adrianna, Carolyn, Frankie, Matthew, Blake, Everett, Nicholas, Finnley, Lincoln, Morgan, Isla, Jaxon, Liam, Audrey, Maeve and Amayah; his brothers, David Dempsey (Kay) and Richard Dempsey (Clarissa); his friend Millie McKie; his brothers-in-law, Neil Rader (Barbara) and Gene "Bud" Rader (Mary); and his nephew Due. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces.
