He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fingar and Marie Scott Fingar; his brother Norman; his sister-in-law Rachel Fingar; his brother Gerald; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Fingar and Charles Sedgwick.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Nielsen Fingar; his children, Steve Fingar (Marlene), Lisa Sabia (Al), Rhonda Sherwood (Steve) and Robert Fingar (Dianne); his grandchildren, Brent Fingar (Nitosha), Jillian Spencer (Drew), Matthew Hey, Nicholas Sabia, Christopher Ledgerwood (Freyja), Kara Ledgerwood, Austin, Conner and Braden Fingar; his great grandchildren, Teagan, Kalliope, Jaxon, Mya, Avry, Brinley and Nilsa; and his siblings, Joyce Sedgwick of Lakeland, FL and Dorwin Fingar (Blanche) of Penn Yan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
