He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael F LaKotta and Grace May LaKotta; and his brothers, Paul and John LaKotta. He is survived by: his wife Christa Puju LaKotta of Sherman, NY; his children, Erik LaKotta of Sherman, NY, Sharon Charrette (Mark) of Sherman, NY and Sandra LaKotta (Anthony Kuczynski) of Sherman, NY; his grandchildren, Amanda Evans, Savanah Palmisano (Cory), Shawn LaKotta (Danielle), Megan Charrette, Zoey Charrette, Ryan Baker and Jason LaKotta; and his great grandchildren, Mason, Ava and Eli. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Freay Funeral Home (139 S Erie St, Mayville, NY 14757). A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
