He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Rubner and Deleeo Rubner (Brougham); his siblings, Fritz Rubner and Mary Holloway; and his close friend Tim "Otis" Moorehead.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Rubner (Phelps); his daughter Kelly Thornton (Andrew Sutter) of Sherman, NY; his grandchildren, Kaylee Johnson (Nathan), Carter Thornton (Kaylee Hodge) and Kendra Thornton; his daughter Amy Folsom (Greg); his grandchildren, Dakota, Mila and Caleb of Valrico, FL.; and his siblings, Paul Rubner (Debbie) of Winter Haven, FL, Dean Rubner of Ridge Manor, FL, Marla Murdock (Dale) of Sherman, NY and Jan Birchfield (Bobby) of Zephyrhills, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 142 Kipp St, Sherman, NY 14781.
In honor of his generous spirit, donations can be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, who provided amazing care for him and his family as well as Small Town Shelter, his daughter's animal rescue, which he was deeply invested in helping establish and keep running.
