He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Janet; his children, Donna O'Hara (Joe), Lisa, Jennifer Cavaliere (Mike), Jimmy Grippe Jr. Michael (Joanne) and Glen Grippe (Tara); and his sibling Thomas Grippe (Robin). He was also cherished by his wife of 60 years, his children.

“My name is George St John. I am 80 years old. I met Jimmy Grippe at age 10 in the 5th grade at Hampton Street School. Over the years we saw each other from time to time and kept in touch. It wasn't until I moved to S. Florida that we shared more and better time together. Jimmy loved FL. We would always call each other on holidays and stay on the phone a long time and just laugh when one of us said "hey you member when we........ha,ha. Miss you Jim. George St John”
