He was predeceased by: his parents, Chillis Smith and Willie Mae Smith; and his brother Canius Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa and Tracy Chillis; his goddaughter Felicia Kelly; and his siblings, Henry Stewart, Ammo Smith and Jessie Smith. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
