He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Francis Thurston and Marion Taber Thurston; his wife Kathryn "Kathy" Thurston (Parish); his children, Donna Butts (John), Duke Thurston (Liz), North Carolina Carl Thurston, Edward Thurston (Nicole) and Seneca Falls; his grandchildren, Alica Flores (Rennie), Nicole Delgreco (Joe), John Butts Jr., DeAnna Thurston, Duke Jr., Nicholas Thurston, Ryan Thurston, Alica Lannon and Krystal Cologgi (Gio); his great grandchild His; his daughter-in-law Molly Mahoney Thurston; his siblings, Madeline Tamburrino (Auburn), Pat Gianetti (Auburn), Thomas Thurston (Auburn), John Thurston (Auburn), Bruce Thurston (Donna), Joseph Thurston (Auburn) and Michael Thurston (Judy); his son Richard "Rick" Thurston; and his siblings, Barbara Baity, June Carter, Virginia Cooper, Wanda Kuszai, Corrine Atwood and Richard Thurston. He was also cherished by Several nieces and nephews.
