He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Spence Sr. and Bertha Spence; his siblings, Kathleen Spence, Elizabeth Spence, Ronald "Red" Spence, Thomas Spence and Richard Spence Jr.; and his grandson Joseph Padlick.
He is survived by: his wife Beverley; his children, Kathleen Padlick (Jeff), Barbara Spence, Daniel Spence (Jane), David Spence and Matthew Spence; his grandchildren, Evan Noah, Kassie Padlick-Field (Khris), Jennifer Mannara (Anthony), Joshua Padlick (Krista), Preston Spence, Matthew Spence Jr., Jordan Spence, Sydney Spence and Jacob Spence; his great grandchildren, Kylie, Audrey, Finley, Isabella, Brody, Lucia and Lewis; his siblings, Martin Spence, Patrick Spence (Carol), William Spence (Joyce), John Spence, James Spence (Marie), Frances Wells (Luke), Mary Kinton (John), Lauren Spence and Theresa Spence (Mark Wagner); his daughter Barb; his friend Scott Stokoe; and also Nelson Green. He is also survived by numerous foster children, and extended family and friends.
