He was predeceased by: his son Harold W. "Bill"; and his parents, John W. Wilson and Jessie McGuire (Phil). He is survived by: his wife Helen; his son James; and his siblings, Pat, Peg and Mike. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palliative Care at Strong Memorial Hospital.
