He was predeceased by: his father Robert John; his wife Joyce A. Verbeck Bergerstock; his sons, William Bergerstock and Edward Bergerstock; his brother Robert Donald Bergerstock; and his brother-in-law John Verbeck.

He is survived by: his children, Diana Massey (Ron) and Ronald L. Bergerstock (Kitty); his grandchildren, Donald Massey (Rachael), Andrew Massey, Leighann Bergerstock and Thomas McGetrick; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Noah and Dani Massey; his brother Joseph Charles Bergerstock of Syracuse; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Verbeck (Marian) and Harold Verbeck. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
