He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Donato and Mary Donato (Eck); his parents-in-law, Louis and Ruth DePoalo; his brothers, Nick, Joe and Tom; and his siblings-in-law, Susan Wolberg (DePoalo) and Robert DePoalo.

He is survived by: his daughter Karen Donato Plunkett (Greg); his siblings, John (Joyce), Bill (Linda), Patrick, Susan (Aldas), Pete, Jerry (Karen) and Wayne (Amy); his goddaughters, Mary Ellen and Lily Flores; his parents-in-law, Teresa, Steve Kegg, Sandra, John Weiler, Evan and Eric Wolberg; and also, Ed Bartley, Kathi Bartely, Dave, Danielle VanDenburg, Elaine, Eric, Ethan and Lily Luper. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
