He is survived by: his wife Celeste Cornell; his children, Cindy Sweeney (Steve), Michelle Jacomo (Ray), Marlene Alfonso, Michael Murphy (Nikki) and David Cornell; his grandchildren, Osmel Alfonso, Rachel Jacomo, Raymond Jacomo (Ray-Ray), Kelsea Smith, Adrian Alfonso, TJ Delaney, Kaleigh Sweeney, John Jacomo, Celestine Alfonso, Hannah Murphy, Nicole Cornell, Sydney Murphy and Chloe Murphy; his great grandchildren, Christian Austin, Alexis Austin, Jaxon Harris, Jamis Harris, Silas Smith and Sawyer Smith; and his siblings, Stephen Cornell, Sherrie Anderson and Robin Burt. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many young sailors, peers, friends.
