He was predeceased by: his wife Annette Keppler Mendel; his former wife Mary Loudis Mendel; his siblings, Dorothy Mendel, Margaret (Jackie), Stafford (Kenny), Constance Curry (William), Madeline R. Rosenthal (Lawrence), Eugene Mendel and Charles F. Mendel (Annie); his children, Maryanne Lawlor and Eric Mendel; his nephews, Kevin Curry, Eugene Mendel, Jr. and Charles Mendel (Little Chuck); and his siblings-in-law, Gertrude Mendel (Trudy), Kenny Stafford, Lawrence Rosenthal and William Curry, Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Susan M. Barger, Mark J. Mendel (Janice), Gary V. Mendel, Marie Therese Granville (Paul), Gregory Mendel, Maureen F. Ferrucci, John Matthew Mendel (Fannia) and Diana M. Quinn (David); and his stepchildren, Judy Cummings Pellegrino and Patrick "Bubby" Cummings (Victoria). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
