He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry W. Mingo and Bernice Knox Mingo; his children, Jeanne, John and Jim; and his sisters, Carol and Henrieta.
He is survived by: his wife Kay; and his grandson Andrew. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials for John take the form of donations to the Schroon Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
