He was predeceased by: his mother Hulda France; his stepfather Kenneth Hellijas; his daughter Brenda Hamm; and his half-brother Wayne Hellijas. He is survived by: his wife Virginia France (Barber); his son Maver R. France, Jr. (Denise) of Moneta, VA; his half-brothers, David Hellijas (Gloria) of Seward and Paul Hellijas (Debbie) of Schoharie; and his son-in-law Randy Hamm (Linda) of Bedford, VA.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
