He was predeceased by: his brother Karl; and his mother Elnora. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cater (Foland); his sons, Danny J. Cater, Jr. (Samantha) of Middleburgh, Charles M. Cater (Elizabeth) of Mt. Vision and William J. Cater of Schoharie; his grandchildren, Alexis Cater, Alli Cater, Danny Cater, III, Kristopher O'Connor and Stephanie Cater; his great grandchildren, Kendall Martin and Kole Cater; his siblings, Herbert Cater, Jr. of Esperance, Elden Cater of Cobleskill, Lyle Lawrence of Schenectady, Robin Cater of Glenville and Shelly Wood of Clearwater, FL; and his father Herbert Cater, Sr. of Clearwater. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
