He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Barr and Virginia Barr; his former wife Madeline Barr (Rudesheim); and his brother Robert J. Barr, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Pamela; his children, Stacey Marie Gale (Kevan) of Norwood, MA, Brett Barr (Jessie) of Cobleskill, NY and Kelly Lynn McNiff (Patrick) of East Greenwich, RI; his sons-in-law, Mark Mortensen (Meghan) of Glenville, NY and Erik Mortensen (Kristina) of Ballston Spa, NY; his siblings, Patricia Alheim (Curt) of Ballston Lake, NY and Timonthy Barr of Saratoga, NY; his nephew Matt Alheim (Kristen) of Clifton Park, NY; his niece Katie Marting (Brett) of Glendale, CA; his uncle Gerald Smith (Betty) of Bloomington, IN.; his grandchildren, Samantha, Natalie, Lucian Gale, Elijah, Ashtyn, Harper Barr, Marin, Cavan McNiff, Tyler, Gavin, Ella Mortensen, Noah, Micah, Luca and Victoria Mortensen; and his friends, Lou and Jean Inzinna. He is also survived by several cousins and grand nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held on Thursday, August 15th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals (343 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205). A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
