He is survived by: his son Elliott W. Shanklin (Diane); his son-in-law Paul Mlodzianowski; his grandchildren, Jason (Stacey), Joshua Mlodzianowski, Bryan, Jane and Claire Shanklin; his great grandchild Shai Mlodzianowski; and his stepchildren, Kipp Freeman (Bruce), Karen Puglisi (Peter) and Martha Finlay (Scott).
