Mary F. Cater Obituary

With solemn reverence, we commemorate Mary F. Cater (Schenectady, New York), whose life came to an end on February 6, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Horgan and Mary Horgan (Fregeau); her sister Marilyn Wetzel (Horgan); her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Wetzel (Tiny) and Charlie Dexter; and her son-in-law Terence LeGere.

She is survived by: her significant other Melvin Cater; her children, Matthew Cater (Donna) and Elizabeth LeGere (Michael Collier); her grandchildren, Cody, Caroline Cater (Angelo DeSalvo) and Hanna LeGere; her brother John Horgan (Sue); her siblings-in-law, Herbert Cater (Yvonne) and Ruth Dexter (Cater); and also Mary. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Bond Funeral Home (1614 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the same location.
