It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathryn M. Shear of Schenectady, New York, who passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George William Stamp and Katherine Mary Stamp (Gillis); her husband Alva "Alvie" Shear; and her daughter Kathy Ellis. She is survived by: her son Daniel McCarthy (Lisa); her siblings, Carolyn Guevara (David), George Stamp (Loretta) of Chester, NY and Janet Beyer (Denis) of Hopewell Junction, NY; and her grandchildren, Kevin Bruno, Daniel McCarthy, Jr. and Alicia McCarthy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
