He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Filkins and Norma Filkins (Ashton); his parents-in-law, Roy and Juanita Grant; his brothers, Billy Filkins and Marty; his sister-in-law Clara Filkins (Btag); his siblings, Ronnie Filkins, Norman Filkins, Jackie Filkins, Jerry Filkins and Alyce; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Van Vranken, Joe and John Grant.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Grant; his children, Richard Grant, Patrick Grant (Patty), Tammy Jo Moore (Jamie), Jammie Lynn Truax (Phil) and Christina Filkins; his grandchildren, Abigail Ashworth (Jonathan), Tucker and Adam Traux; his great grandchild Marceline Rainey; his siblings, Joe Filkins (Estel), Kathryn Strope, Theresa Chartier, Patsy Filkins, Bob Filkins (Rosie), Richard Filkins and MaryLou Filkins; and his siblings-in-law, Tucker Grant, Donna Shoemaker (Harry), Fran Spiers and Bob Grant. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
