He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stapleton and Irene Stapleton. He is survived by: his wife Karen A. Stapleton; his children, Sandra Warren (David), Diane Cross, James Stapleton, Jr. (Jennifer) and Linda Stapleton (Mindo Alvarez); his grandchildren, Taylor Cross, Nicholas Poirier, Elizabeth Cross, Owen Stapleton and Nathan Stapleton; and his sister Maureen Kelly (late Martin).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals (343 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke's Church (1241 State St, Schenectady, NY 12304).
