It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ellen B. Desotell (Schenectady, New York), who passed away on March 13, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna Hogan Briggs and John F. Briggs; her former husband Edward M. Westfall; her husband Herman A. Desotell; and her siblings, John F. Briggs Jr., Alice Briggs, Lillian Brennan and Anna Payne.
She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Socha of Schenectady and Teresa Young (Thomas) of Tallahassee, Florida; her children, Edward M. Westfall Jr. (Gail) of Westmoreland, NY and Lillian Miles of Wilton; and her friends, Carmel Moffett and Mary Lou Paley. She is also survived by four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ellen has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga Springs or the charity of your choice.
